Niiiiiiiiice. Love added Dig This video. Caravaggio composition & light, Uncle Fred musings, Breton dreams, Bowie image, all of it… yum. Memory lane… Bowie was my 1st concert… Radio City. Age 13. Chrissie took me. :)
Wow, that’s so cool. Bowie as a first concert is pretty special! My first concert was at the Roseland Ballroom, December 30, 1983. The Kinks. With opening act, Cyndi Lauper.
“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” had only come out a few months earlier. “Time After Time” hadn’t dropped yet. My twin sister was into Cyndi at the time and I found Lauper annoying. And an odd pick to open for the Kinks. But looking back, I remember her performance as a spirited one. And the Kinks were great, too.
Yeah. She annoyed me then too. But…. I saw her on some music special on TV. Patti LaBelle was singing and she had Cyndi join her. Labelle kept pushing Cyndi to go further and further with her voice and spirit… helping her to really connect with what she was singing. It was like watching a total pro mentor a talented student. And she pushed Cyndi way past her baseline. It was great.
Ohhh show and tell. I loved that in school This is the adult version? Yippee
